Girls who wear glasses

Yep its official, Amaya needs glasses. We haven't picked out a pair yet, but doesn't she look cute? We could not decide on a pair and will keep looking, but for now I vote for the blue ones...

Basket Weaving is fun and not done underwater...

Since I have been on Okinawa, I have tried as hard as possible to take as many craft classes as time can afford.  I would hate to leave here and wished I had done more.  So about two months ago I took a basket weaving class and fell in love.  When i got home I could just not believe what I made, so I talked Laura and Christa 2 into taking a second class with me.  Under some duress (it was a heart shaped basket) they came and we all had a great time and I love the basket.  We even were able to dye this time as Shannon figured out ways around the not up to par facilities (she brought a crock pot!).  Please feign surprise if you get a basket for Christmas =)

Book Review

I just finished reading the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and I have to say it was a wonderful book.  Set in post world war II Great Britain the book Follows a young Author named Juliet and her correspondence with a eclectic mix of citizen from Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.  Her new pen pals tell Juliet all about the German Occupation of the Channel Islands and one by one each amazing Islander tells there tale until Juliet becomes a part of it and them.  What a great read.

Twilight

I finally went and saw Twilight today.  I was a bit nervous because I LOVED the books, but my fears where put to rest because it was really good.  Sure there were some totally cheesy parts and some stretched of horrible acting but it was enjoyable and light.  I am really looking forward to the next movie and am super excited to see big buff Jacob!!!

Scrapping the day away

I LOVE 3 day weekends!!! There is no pressure to do something everyday because you always have tomorrow.  Today I did some scrap booking.  I am working on picture of our trip to Korea.  I am trying to scrap more pictures per page.  My friend Heather gets so annoyed that I only put one picture per page usually, so now I am trying.  I have scrap lifted from my favorite magazine Creating Keepsakes and am covered in paint from getting creative with chipboard, now if I only had that Martha Stewart glitter I wanted....

NO Obamamania for me!!!!

Oh no, It looks like I cant go to the inaugeration.  With a vacation coming up and the price of tickets, looks like I will just be watching on the TV. I am trying to be upbeat but....

Christmas with the Duncan-Arfaa Family

Well this is our umpteenth Christmas away from friends and family, you think we would be used to it, but alas....  we did have a wonderful time though, one Christmas eve we invited all out friends over for dinner and just had a wonderful time.  On Christmas day we opened all our presents and then went to brunch at the Butler Officers club, then home to play with out new DS's!!!!

Guess who got invited to the Inauguration??!

Today I received my invitation to the inauguration and about died! I was so excited. we are actually seeing if I can go, my huisband has been looking into airline tickets and soon as I find out its a go, I will be in the air. I am so excited!!!
